Canberra Region Feltmakers offers one day workshops to introduce those new to felting to the basic skills needed to start creating your own beautiful felt pieces. Each tutor brings their own skills and creativity to their workshop for beginners.
You will learn the skills of laying out wool, wetting down, rolling, fulling and most importantly, how to tell when your felt is fully felted. By the end of the day you will have created your own felt piece to take home.
We look forward to sharing the magic of felt making with you.

Tutor: Robyn Primrose
Since childhood and the dress up box, Robyn Primrose has always loved colour and fabric. She cannot remember when she did not do something creative. After playing with 3D pieces in clay and metal, Robyn studied painting and drawing in Brisbane in the mid 1980's, which led to working with silk and then feltmaking. Since moving to Goulburn in the early 2000's, Robyn has pursued felt making with a passion. She loves the tactile nature of felt and the way that, no matter how well you plan a piece, it always takes its own direction. Robyn's personal challenge is to make felt as fine as possible without comprising its strength and durability to create wearable garments that flow with body movement and incorporate silk, cobweb style and fine layers.
