For our third Canfelt Along, we are celebrating life and festivity. Our members will share some of their favourite felting techniques and ideas to help you celebrate in felt. We are excited to again bring you this concept combining fun, a little mystery, some novel felting techniques and the opportunity to display your work in an exhibition. Here is a chance to try something a little different.

How does it work?

Each week, for five weeks, different feltmakers will share ideas for making wild and wacky felt objects that can be used to decorate festive wreaths and table centrepieces. We will also show you how to make the base for a wreath using garden materials. The instructions will include short videos demonstrating techniques or written notes and photos. There are no set times. You can work on the project when it is convenient to you during the five weeks and do as much or as little as you choose.

While these instructions will take you through the overall process, there will also be the opportunity to use your own design creativity. This is not an exercise in everyone creating an identical item although there will be similarities. Part of the fun is seeing what everyone creates starting with the same information.

Materials

Before the Canfelt Along begins you will be given a materials list. Many of the materials can probably be sourced from your stash.

Skill level

A basic knowledge of how felt is made is assumed. The instructions will be in English.

Registration

Registration is essential. Entry in the exhibition to be held in November is included. This event is open to all felt makers. Secure online payment is available through PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account).
